Update to all registered UNHCR refugees and asylum-seekers about the 6P programme

We wish to give you confirmed information about 6P registration for refugees.

As you know, yesterday the Government began to meet refugees at Putrajaya to start the 6P registration. Because there were too many refugees at Immigration yesterday, there is now a new system to register refugees and asylum-seekers for the 6P.
We have informed refugee community organizations about this. All refugees and asylum-seekers must contact their community organisations on how to get registered.

This week, registration is being done only at the Putrajaya Immigration Center. This will end on Friday, 26 August, and continue again in September after the Hari Raya holidays. The new venue and dates will be announced for September.

This will take several months to finish, until all UNHCR refugees and asylum-seekers are registered.

For now, the Registration of refugees and asylum-seekers will be for those in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor only.

Refugees and asylum-seekers in other places will be registered after this and must wait for further announcement.

You must speak with your community organisation to know which organisations will start first and which will start next.


This registration must be done in stages, and can take some time. We hope you will understand and will be patient.
