Chin Student Union of North America (CSUNA) announces New Executive Committee and Central Committee Leaderships

October 23rd, 2009- Chin Student Union of North America (CSUNA), in its endeavor to uplift educational development of chin people; to preserve and promote social, cultural heritages and ethnic identity of the Chin; to promote trust, understanding, solidarity and cooperative spirits among Chin people and to assist, cooperate in, and contribute efforts towards the development and rebuilding of Chinland, gladly announces it new leaderships for the next two years term.

“I am greatly humbled to be elected as the President of the Chin Student Union of North America. I promise, to the best of my limited ability, to carry out the missions of this great Union laid out during the historic 2006 Chin Student Conference. This Union has come this far since its formation in 2006, yet much still needs to be done. Therefore, let me invite not only my colleagues of this Union but the whole chin populace to join hands together for the betterment of our peoples and motherland. The time of division is over, and it is time we came together as one. Otherwise, division will put an end to our very existence,” says the newly elected President, Salai Shing Ki Gei.
Reflecting on the past CSUNA’s movement, Former President Salai Za Ceu Lian says, “I am so encouraged and thrilled personally to see, witness, and feel the growing level of closeness, solidarity, and sense of national unity that we have collectively achieved among our Chin students. May this unity and our sense of oneness in Chin as peoples with a shared history and common destiny be continuously nurtured, guarded, and strengthened by the successive CSUNA’s leaders and our next generations to come”.
